Where is Carin Locksmith based?
We're a mobile locksmith based in Wolli Creek NSW 2205, covering the St George, Bayside and Inner West areas including Arncliffe, Tempe, Rockdale, Kogarah, Mascot and Marrickville.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
You get a quote on the phone before we drive out, and it's confirmed on site before work begins. No surprises on the invoice.
Can you open my door without damaging it?
In most lockouts, yes. Non-destructive entry is always tried first. If drilling is ever needed, we explain why and quote it before going ahead.
Do you do car lockouts?
Yes. We open most makes and models without damage, at home, on the street or in a car park.
How quickly can you get to me?
Response time depends on traffic and the jobs already booked. Because we're based in Wolli Creek, nearby suburbs are usually reached quickly. Call and we'll give you an honest arrival estimate.
Will you damage my door?
Non-destructive entry is always tried first. If a lock has to be drilled, we tell you before we do it and quote the replacement up front.
Do I need to prove I live there?
Yes. We ask for ID, a lease, a bill or confirmation from the building manager before opening a residence. It is a standard safety step.
Can you open a locked balcony or sliding door?
Usually, yes. Sliding door locks vary a lot, so describe it on the phone and we'll tell you what's likely.
Will opening my car set off the alarm?
Sometimes. If it does, it will stop once you start the car or use the remote as normal.
Can you come to a car park?
Yes. Let us know the car park name and level when you call, and whether there's a height limit.
Do you supply the locks?
Yes. We carry common residential deadbolts, deadlatches and lever sets, and can recommend options at different price points.
I'm renting. Can I change the locks?
Check your lease and NSW tenancy rules first. Generally you need to give the landlord a copy of the new key. We're happy to work with your agent.
Do you work with strata and property managers?
Yes. We can quote directly to strata or your managing agent and invoice them.
Can you come after hours?
Yes, for lockouts and premises that can't be secured.
Can I put a smart lock on my apartment door?
Often yes, but many apartment entry doors are fire-rated and strata may have rules. Check with your building manager, and we can help confirm the hardware is suitable.
What happens if the batteries die?
Most smart locks warn you well in advance and include a backup way in. We'll show you how yours works before we leave.
